The Issue with Blood

This woman had:
•twelve years of disappointment
•twelve years of pain
•twelve years of being let down
•twelve years of trying everything and getting worse
• twelve years of being alone in her suffering
And yet…
She believed Jesus was the only one who could heal her.
She determined within herself to reach Him.
She pushed through a sea of people.
She risked the outcome.
She acted on her faith, not her feelings.
She wasn’t guessing.
She wasn’t hoping vaguely.
She wasn’t “seeing what happens.”
She believed.
And she moved.
Reflection
I see myself in her.
Not in the physical condition- though MS has its own long, lonely ache- but in the years of disappointment.
The years of:
• unanswered prayers
•loneliness
•feeling forgotten
•feeling invisible
•feeling like everyone else gets their miracle first
• trying things that didn’t work
•hoping for things that didn’t come
•carrying burdens quietly
But she didn’t let the years define her faith.
She let her faith define her next step.
She didn’t wait for someone to pull her forward.
She pulled herself forward.
She didn’t wait for the perfect moment.
She made the moment.
She didn’t wait for permission.
She reached.
I need to reach again.
Not emotionally.
Not romantically.
Not for a man.
But for Jesus.
I need to push through:
•fear
•fatigue
•disappointment
•loneliness
•frustration
•the heaviness of my family responsibilities
•the ache of wanting a life I don’t have yet
I need to touch Him again.
Not with perfect faith, but with determined faith.
So...
Her healing didn’t start when she touched Jesus.
It started when she DECIDED to.
Maybe mine will too.
And yours.
